Is Your Tap Water Making You Fat?

Being dehydrated can make you fat and keep you from losing fat, because when you are in this state, your kidneys aren’t working right, so your liver has to step in and help them out. One of your liver’s main jobs is to pull fat out of your tissues to be burned off and used for fuel. If it’s busy helping out the kidneys, guess what job it’s not doing?

For this reason, I used to say hydrate at all costs, even if you have to drink tap water. After further investigation of our tap water however, I’m not saying that anymore. I have ended up getting a water filter to get rid of all the unneeded chemicals in it. Have a look at Best Products Pro to see what the best filters on the market are. I now think that for some people, drinking tap water is more fattening than being mildly dehydrated.

What caused my change of heart? Well, as far as fitness goes, it’s because of the effect your municipal “fluoridated” water has on your thyroid. This “fluoridation” process suppresses your thyroid function and depresses your metabolism. It also depresses your mood, so that makes you less likely to workout and eat right. Depression also makes you more docile and less active.

I’m still saying that everyone should be properly hydrated at all costs, but this now includes the cost of buying a proper water filter and seeking out clean water sources. Just stay the heck away from drinking straight tap water! If you wanted to learn more about water softeners that have often be known to filter water well check out water softener reviews (go to site).

The “fluoride” put into our tap water is an inorganic compound. It’s actually a drug that is administered to the masses under the claims (i.e. lies) of dental benefits. It is the only drug administered to our society without our informed consent (which by the way, is supposed to be a basic necessary legal and ethical step in pharmacology). Like any drug, there are negative side effects. In the case of excess “fluoride,” that’s called “fluorosis.”

Drugs are supposed to be dose specific, based on the patent’s individual needs. I drink a gallon of water per day. If this was tap water, would this be the right “dose” of “fluoride” for me? What about babies? Should infants be given the same “dose” as adults? Is that the right “dose” for an obese person? What “dose” is appropriate for the elderly? Shouldn’t the “dose” be different for men than women? What about other species, like our pets? All other drugs have different doses for all the different population segments I mentioned here, so why not “fluoride?”

This is an interesting question, because I bet you didn’t know that the American Dental Association now recommends that tap water NOT be used in making infant formula. For some reason they won’t come out and tell you this publicly, but if you dig hard enough, you can find it for yourself. I got the following recommendations off the ADA website for preventing your child from getting dental fluorosis:

  • You can breast feed. Breast milk is very low in fluoride. Nursing mothers or pregnant women who drink fluoridated water do not pass on significant amounts of fluoride to their child.
  • You can use ready-to-feed formula.
  • You can use powdered or liquid concentrate formula mixed with water that either is fluoride-free or has low concentrations of fluoride.

Apparently the “dose” of “fluoride in our tap water is indeed too high for babies (even though the ADA tries to minimize it so they don’t make waves). As you can see from their recommendation, mother’s milk is virtually fluoride free even when mom drinks tap water. Is God’s design protecting us from ourselves here? Things that make you go “Hmmm…”

Here’s the facts and if you don’t already know them, they will alarm you. “Fluoridated” water is actually scarier than it sounds. It’s really a toxic waste product called “hydrofluorosilicic acid.” The Phosphate fertilizer industry and some metal industries used to release poisonous gases into the air (hydrogen fluoride and silicon tetra fluoride) through their exhaust stacks. This went on for years until those gases were proven to be extremely toxic. Factories were then required to capture those gases and they found the best way to do that was by using water. The water then converts the gases into hydrofluorosilicic acid.

Unlike the fluoride used in toothpaste, hydrofluorosilicic acid is not pharmaceutical-grade quality. It is an unpurified, industrial-grade, corrosive acid which is toxic to living organisms, so it can’t be disposed of by pouring it out into the ground, rivers or oceans. Instead, it’s put into tanker trucks and driven around the country to be sold to local municipalities as a drug and dumped into the water supply to make us “healthier.” Since there are no pharmaceutical controls on this waste product, it’s really just a mixture of whatever comes out the stack gases from different plants. This makes it quite variable, containing many other toxins as well, such as arsenic, lead, mercury and more.

Interesting isn’t it? As a gas it’s toxic. When captured in water, it’s still toxic, but once it’s sold as a drug, it magically turns into a healthy substance, necessary for human consumption. Things that make you go “Hmmmmm…”

Hydrofluorosilicic acid is also a neurotoxin. As I mentioned earlier, it’s not even the same sodium fluoride that’s found in your toothpaste. That stuff is toxic enough, but the stuff in your water is even worse. Hydrofluorosilicic acid is a fabulous pesticide and nerve gas though. You’ll find lots of it in both of those. You’ll find it in conventionally raised produce too, from the bug sprays they use. Organic foods don’t have it though, which is another reason I eat organic.

Fluoride is supposed to be for topical use only. It is a poison when consumed internally. This is why your toothpaste has a POISON WARNING LABEL! Would you drink suntan lotion to prevent a sunburn? That’s the same logic behind drinking fluoride to prevent tooth decay. This seems like a no-brainer to me, but for those of you who would like more convincing, here’s a link to read more about it: http://www.fluoridealert.org/toothpaste.html

By the way, I personally think topical fluoride is also unnecessary. I don’t receive fluoride treatments at the dentist and I have used fluoride free toothpaste for years now. Even when you use fluoride topically, you will swallow some. Kids swallow even more, but I’m not a dentist, so I won’t recommend what you do. Do your own research and see how many dentists agree with me. One of these dentists, who has also done a TON of research on the subject, is Dr. Paul Genung, here in Seattle. See his stuff for yourself at http://toothwisdom.info/

The CDC’s own data shows that more than 1/3 of the kids in the USA have dental fluorosis or are at least “questionable.” The term “questionable” by the way, cracks me up when the government uses it, because what they really mean is, “Yeah, all these kids have it for sure, but some not as bad as the others, so we can call that group a ‘maybe’ and therefore skew the data which will allow us to say something like, ‘less than 1/4’ of the kids instead of ‘more than 1/3’.”

The symptoms of dental fluorosis usually show up on the teeth as white spots or discoloration marks. Since the outside of our body is a window to our inside, this means if you can see it on your teeth, you are surely damaging other internal organs as well. Dental fluorosis is a sign of TOXICITY, meaning our kids are being poisoned. Why don’t we hear more about this? Why don’t the non-fluoridated countries have dental fluorosis pandemics? In fact, most of the other countries in the world don’t fluoridate their water and their teeth are as good or better than fluoridated countries like USA and China. Things that make you go “Hmmmmm…”

Excess fluoride also contributes to hip fractures by making the bones more brittle. Many cases of diagnosed “arthritis” is really just the first stages of fluoride toxicity. Since it shares the same symptoms as arthritis and since most doctors don’t educate themselves about fluoride toxicity, they just call it arthritis and prescribe more drugs.

Fluoride accumulates in the pineal glad and other parts of the brain, causing many adverse mental effects, including lowering your IQ. Since I switched to an organic diet and filtered water about 5 years ago, my IQ has increased from 121 to 137. My mom passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, so I volunteered to be in a research study. I have been tested every year for the last 5 years. Normally, memory declines with age as well as other normal cognitive degenerative markers. My test scores however, have gone up every year in all areas. The researchers can’t make sense of it. I’m the only subject that seems to be getting younger mentally as I get older chronologically. Things that make you go “Hmmmmm…”

Putting hydrofluorosilicic acid in our water supply is unethical, unnecessary, ineffective and toxic. Get a filter TODAY and get this stuff out of your water! The best filter is reverse osmosis. For your place of business, go with this company: wetcoolers.com. For your home, I think the Zero Water filters take out hydrofluorosilicic acid the best. Brita filters don’t. The reason I think Zero Water filters do is because hydrofluorosilicic acid is an inorganic compound and the Zero Water filters come with a water tester that reads inorganic compounds in the water. Municipal tap water usually contains 4 to 6 parts per million. If that was coming back out the other side of a Zero Water filter, it would read something more than 000. I change my Zero Water filter when it says 001 by the way, instead of waiting until it says 006 like they recommend. It still lasts for months before it reads 001. You can get Zero Water filters at many different stores like Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Sears, etc.

I’m not an affiliate marketer or selling anything here. I just want you to get as fit as possible and as lean as you want. This also means getting as healthy as possible. Removing hydrofluorosilicic acid (aka “fluoride”) from your water will certainly help. Filters also take out some stuff that is good too (like minerals, trace iodine, etc.) so healthy eating and even supplementation for some can be a good idea. Most clean springs and clean source wells have the best water you can find but for those of us who don’t have access to that, a filter is the next best thing.
